BEST PRACTICE

The Victorian Government has identified Fitzrovia’s dedication to sustainability, as ‘Best Practice’ using its Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS) system.

Created to assist builders and developers to demonstrate that they meet sustainability information requirements, the BESS tool assesses energy and water efficiency, thermal comfort, and overall environmental sustainability performance. Fitzrovia surpassed the minimum planning requirements in all of these areas, highlighting its commitment to first rate development.

The Australian Government is encouraging developers to become more mindful of this through its Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), which rates the energy efficiency of a home out of ten.
